We had a fun filled summer with older school age children joining us. We visited the Forest Of Dean and did (part) of the Scultpure Trail. We tried out a new park in Broadway - I think this was a hit as they asked if they could go again another day. We visited Gloucester Museum to see the robots - Star wars being the favourite.. Plus many many picnics in the park. NSPCC have launched a campaign to teach children to keep safe from abuse.
It's called LEARN THE UNDERWEAR RULE - PANTS Here is the link to read it. http://www.nspcc.org.uk/globalassets/documents/advice-and-info/the-underwear-rule---guide-for-parents-new-brand.pdf Our current topic is Flowers. We've looked at sunflowers, planted sunflower seeds and made sunflower pictures. We've visited Crickley Hill to look at which flowers could grow in the woods. Planning and activities for the first half term - People who help us Harvest Festival Autumn Diwali Halloween Plus individual interests based on Farms & tractors, My new baby brother and Pepoa Pig! I think we're going to be busy! Summer term is upon us now, let's hope the sun starts to shine a bit more.
Here are our planned group activities for the up and coming months. May - Mini beasts June - Flowers July - Summer July - Holidays Also in addition to these are the individual planning activities for each child based on their interests which are (at the moment) - dancing, books, animals and cars/wheels. This term we have already looked at Chinese New Year - we watched Dragon dancing on the IPad, decorated a Blossom Tree, made lanterns and ate using chopsticks!
Themes for February are Transport, Valentine's Day, and the Winter Olympics. March brings us Spring - looking at new life on the trees, nature walks and tree rubbings. April is Easter Time - egg hunting, bunny face masks and hopefully no April showers but some sunshine so we can look at the beautiful new flowers emerging from the sodden ground! |
